Rough Riders 5, Duct Tape Hillbillies 3
Hillbillies ace Will took the mound against MVP candidate Brad Brickhouse.
It was a tough game and will was dealling. Pete took Brad deep in the
3rd, but after that Brick settled down. Up 3-2 going into the 5th the
Hillbillies pitcher allowed a run sconring double to Blaine to tie, and in
the bottom of the 6th Brickhouse dropped a 2 run bomb to take the game
walk off style.
Duct Tape Hillbillies 0, Rough Riders 6
New Hillbilly Marshall took on the big hurler from the Riders, Archer.
Marshall pitched well but missed the zone a little too much. Riders
played small ball, with several singles and a couple of bases loaded
walks, but Brad uncorked a Grand Slam in the 5th that almost landed in
the other field, and broke the game open. Archer was on, allowing only 2
base runners and both were in the first.
Swamp Donkeys versus Isotopes, game 1:The Donkeys
bats woke up from their two year hibernation and they put up 14 runs on
multiple home runs. The two-out rule was in play as the Donkeys failed
to field a team of three. Chad had four home runs including two grand
slams and Josh hit at least three dingers. The Isotopes didn't get the
bats going except for a moon shot home run from PJ after being robbed of
another one by a GA oak. James pitched well so the only thing I can
think of is they loaded the bat or something?
Swamp Donkeys versus Isotopes, Game 2: Chad led off the game with a HR and then PJ would silence the
swamp hitters. Josh pitched very well but sloppy defense and a few walks
let the Isotopes get the game out of reach. PJ had two more home runs
in this one to end it 5-1.
Tucker Power Company 5, Wiffle House 2
Both teams had two homers, but TPC's both came with runners on, while
Wiffle House had two solo shots, guiding TPC to a 5-2 win. Wiffle House
had opportunities against Johnny, getting runners on first and second a
few times, but were never able to bring them around to score.
Wiffle House 0, Tucker Power Company 12 (5 innings)
Brian's recent streak of decent pitching was completely snapped, as TPC
hit 6 bombs off him in 3 innings of work, 4 of them coming on two-strike
counts. Dan Foster was lights out on the mound again, although the
no-hitter was ruined by the first batter of the game.
Pirates 0, NBC 2 (11 innings)
A vacation-addled NBC took on the Pirates. With Grant and Ken on the mound, things were looking tough for the hitters of both clubs, with the little offense coming sporadically (and, for the NBC, from league vet and one-week sub). However, after 10.5 innings of hard-fought wiffleball in the scorching summer heat, a walk-off homer by Our Wonderful Leader Chris ends it.
NBC 3, Pirates 7
Despite having about 27 home runs taken away by the NBC outfielders, the
Pirates muscle up on a surprisingly not-rusty Chris to win, and Jordan made a good comeback performance on the mound to earn the win.
