So, in lieu of the recaps for Week 1 (sorry, loyal fans and followers!), here are the recaps for a rain-shortened Week 2.
Swamp Donkeys vs. Pirosotopes
Game 1: Donkey pitcher Josh looked sharp in
his first apperance of 2013, facing off against Pirosotope pitcher
Dylan. Donkey bats came to life after a rough week one, scoring 7 in
the first and 5 more in the second. James came in amd settled things
down, but the deficit was too big. Josh hit his first Home Run of the
season and Donkeys win 13-1.
Game 2: WATL Godfather, and Pirosotope frontman Jordan Kadrie took the hill against long time rival and new Donkey Blaine Milam in what would turn out to be one of the best games of the young 2013 season. Pirosotopes got off to an early lead scoring 3 in the first, but Blaine settled down and pitched 4 straight shutout innings. Donkey bats found Jordan a little too much as the Donks scored 5 in the top of the 5th, but in the bottom frame of the fith a Jordan single, a Marc Wolf 3 bagger and a Dylan run scoring single tied the game 5-5 going into the 6th. Nothin doing in the 6th inning but the wheels came off a well pitched game in the 7th as Chuck sent two Jordan offerings into the cheap seats, and Blaine dropped a bomb of his own. Donkeys win 9-5 and take the series 2-0.

Wiffle House vs. Rough Riders
(In one of the dumber decisions in recent WiffleATL
history, Wiffle House and Rough Riders squared off in monsoon conditions
on Sunday afternoon.)
Game 1: Archer was dominant on the mound and Brian had a one wild inning that resulted in 4 Riders runs. Rough Riders 5, Wiffle House 0.
Game 2: Hughes gave Wiffle House the lead early with a 3-run homer off
Brad, but homers from both Brickhouses tied the game, and RoughRiders
won it on a walkoff groundout.
Rough Riders 4, Wiffle House 3.
