Playoffs, Week 2

Alright, we're just gonna jump right in to this weekend's Division Championship games. Here's what happened:

Druid Hills
#1 Rough Riders vs. #3 Swamp Donkeys
Game 1: Josh pitched a good game, and even took ROY candidate Stephan Archer deep but the Riders were too much for the veteran hurler. Riders got out to a 4-1 lead in the 2nd and cruised to a 5-3 win behind the exceptional pitching of Archer. Blaine and Hardy took the Donkeys pitcher deep, and Blaine slid into third ripping his leg up on the hard grass.

Game 2 was not as close as the Riders bats warmed up and Donkeys pitcher Chad Alexander was not at his best. Riders jumped out to a 6-0 lead off a Bad Brickhoue HR and a Hardy double. The Donkeys fought back but it was too little too late, as the Riders finished them off, 8-1.


Briarcliff
#1 Tucker Power Company vs. #2 Nellie's BBQ Club
Game 1: TPC got up early with 3 runs in the 2nd and held the NBC to just 1 run and went on to win behind Kevin Smith and Chris Smith's run scoring doubles. Daniel pitched a gem and Ken did well also striking out 12. TPC took game one 3-1 behind daniels masterful pitching.

Game 2: Seth pitched well and the ROY candidate took game two from the hard hitting TPC. The game was tied going into extra frames until Sam Crochet blasted a bomb off Johnny that dinked off the top of the fence and landed on the other side, walk off style, and pushed the series to game three.

Game 3: Ken came back to pitch the third game for the NBC and was just nasty, striking out more than a dozen TPCs. The shut down was devastating to the TPCers and they couldn't out play Ken Crochet's will to win. NBC took game 3, 6-0 to move on to face the Druid Hills winner Rough Riders next week.
