Week 6 Recap

Again, singular recap. Most games got rained out, again, this past weekend. The only teams to play were the TPC and the NBC, veritable foes with a history that explains the split game decision outcome.

TPC vs. NBC

Game 1
It rained cats and dogs for a solid 30 minutes before game time, but everyone decided to just do what we do best… PLAY BALL! This game a great pitching duel for the first 5 innings as both Daniel and Seth were on point with their pitching. Nasty pitches mixed with great location dominated both teams. Up until the 5th inning, Daniel had given up only one hit and Seth had only given up 3. In the top of the 5th inning Daniel threw a low inside pitch to Seth and he golfed it for a two run bomb to make it NBC 2 and TPC 0. It all went downhill from there as Daniel walked in a couple of batters and gave up a couple more hits only to give the pitching reigns to Chris Smith with a 4-0 deficit. Chris did well and got TPC out of the inning; however TPC was unable to get anything off of Seth and lost the game 4-0. NBC 4, TPC 0.

Game 2
Since the pitcher’s mound was a 1 foot deep mud pit and the batter’s box wasn’t much better, everyone decided to move to the field to the other side of the baseball field for game 2. This game pitted Kevin Smith vs Sam Crochet in a high speed pitching duel. Both teams struggled to get a hit the entire game and there were very few walks and nothing but strikeouts for both sides. It all came down to the top of the 6th inning when Chris Smith launched a BOMB to dead center and put the TPC up 1-0. Kevin dominated and ended the game with 3 up and 3 down in the 6th inning, only giving up 2 hits the entire game. TPC 1, NBC 0.
