Week 4 Recap
Yes, singular "recap." Rain got in the way, again, of most of the teams unwilling to play while wet and slippery. The Swamp Donkeys and Wiffle House, on the other hand, had different plans in mind.
Swamp Donkeys vs. Wiffle House
Game 1
WiffleHouse frontman Brian Donegan took the mound against Donkey ace Grant Yarborough and with 17 years of combined WATL experience between them, a WATL classic ensued. Donks get out to an early lead with two in the first but WiffleHouse match it with two of their own in the 2nd. WiffleHouse plate 1 in the 3rd and 2 more in the 5th. Brian was dealin until, with a 5-4 lead going into the bottom of the 6th, he allowed a leadoff single to Eli, struck out Grant, walked Josh and struck out Blaine, and with 2 outs and the win in sight, the wheels came off and B-don walked the bases loaded, then walked in Eli to tie it, and then walked in Josh to lose. The Donkeys will take the cheap win.
Game 2
Josh Shul took the hill for the Donkeys against rookie WiffleHouse pitcher Ryan, who held it together for a couple of innings and then imploded, allowing 3 bombs and 7 RBIs to Donkey cleanup hitter Eli. Josh added a big fly of his own and pitched 5 innings of one-run ball to take the win.
