Week 6 Recap

Rough Riders 11, Pirates 2
Jordan started off slow and gave up 11 runs in the first two innings, but settled down and did not allow any more runs through the final four frames. Brad Brickhouse extended his winning streak to 6-0 and after a few early game walks he found his stride.

Pirates 0, Rough Riders 22
Archer pitched a gem for the Riders. He had a perfect game through 4 that was called on the mercy rule. The Riders hit too many home runs to count, and the Pirates pitching, though not terrible, was victimized by the hard hitting Riders.

Swamp Donkeys 3, Wiffle House 1
Chad outlasted the Wiffle House and pitched his best game all season, striking out a career high 9 batters. The slow-throwing southpaw looked to have regained some of his dignity after a brutal first half of the season. Except for the first inning, Jeremy was lights out- a home run by Chad on Jeremy's first pitch of the game was part of that first inning, however.

Wiffle House 2, Swamp Donkeys 1
Josh and Brian matched up after Josh's one month hiatus. Brian took advantage of Josh's rustiness early and hit a long home run. After that, Josh settled down to his stingy self and forced ground out after ground out. Brian was ridiculous from the hill and gave up only two hits including a home run from Riggs. Brian struck out an embarrassing 14 Donkeys to get the W.

The Isotopes upset Tucker Power Company 4-3 in Game 1. However, the TPC then got angry and won the second game by a lot.

The NBC swept the Duct Tape Hillbillies with 2 blowout wins.

We have four more weeks remaining, folks! This upcoming weekend features some very good matchups on both days. On Saturday, the top two Druid Hills Division teams, Wiffle House and Rough Riders, will face off in a mighty showdown for the division. On Sunday, old rivals will face off in another inter-divisonal set as the Swamp Donkeys and the Pirates try to stay out of the basement of their respective divisions.
