Opening Day got off to a bit of a slow start at the Pirates postponed their series with the East Cobb Braves and the NBC were unable to field a team but we saw lots of excitement, talent, and whatever happened with the RR/TPC merger.
Final results on the day:
TPC/RR 12 Swamp Donkeys 10
W - Daniel
L - Josh
SV - Johnny
This game saw lots of homers on a short field with very low fences (about 4"), some great pitching, and terrible defense (except for Kevin and Steve). The TPC/RR took a huge lead 7-2 but the Donkeys kept plugging away. Unfortunately a towering grand-slam by Mike and several fielding errors by Grant kept the game out of reach.
Freak Stick 6 East Cobb Braves 1
Freak Stick came out with some astounding pitching early on in the game and except for a mid game blast by the ECB they would have started their inagural WiffleAtlanta campaign with a shutout.
Codee Burton pitched lights out wiffle and showed he's an early candidate for ROY.
