Week 1 Recap

While the TPC and Rough Riders did not play, missing a great opportunity for tons of smack to be traded between the two teams, the Donkeys swept the Pirates in a pair of polar-opposite contests, and the NBC swept the new-coming Braves by way of a pair of shutouts.

Swamp Donkeys vs. Pirates
In Game 1, Josh Suhl held the Pirates to just 1 run, while Jordan Kadrie did the exact opposite, giving up 11 runs (and 4 homers) to the Swamp Donkeys. Final score: Pirates 1, Swamp Donkeys 11. In Game 2, a much closer affair, new Buccos acquisition, ex-Wiffle House GM and ex-MVP Brian Donegan took the hill for the Bucs. The Donkeys put up a 4-spot in the top of the 3rd inning, which proved to be all they needed to best their opposition. Grant Yarbrough had the rest of the team sweating after giving up 3 runs in the 4th and 5th innings, prompting Donk-Master Chad Alexander to pull him in favor of Blaine Milam, who shut the Pirates down for the remaining one and two-thirds innings, for the first save of the season. The Donkeys did add an extra insurance run in the top of the 6th, but whatever. Final score: Swamp Donkeys 5, Pirates 3.
